Golden handshake for CEO

Johannesburg - Outgoing SAFA Chief Executive Officer Lesley Sedibe will receive a rather handsome bonus before packing up his office later this month.

Sedibe's contract with SAFA comes to an end this month (December) so the association has no financial obligations towards the soon to be ex-CEO.

However Sedibe, who is a lawyer by trade, will receive a golden handshake to the value of R2 million as dividends that all SAFA CEO's qualify for when they step down.

"It's normal that as the CEO when you leave the position that there is a send-off package that, based on your performance ratings, can be given. Like his predecessors, he deserves the gratuity or dividends which will be a big thank you for a job well done. He delivered on his mandate for the association," revealed a high ranking source within SAFA.
