Yorke: Only four players safe under Mourinho

Cape Town - Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has suggested that Jose Mourinho could launch a massive overhaul of the squad he inherited from Louis Van Gaal.

Mourinho succeeded Van Gaal at Old Trafford last month and is touted to make large-scale changes to United's playing personel, with £200 million transfer kitty said to be at his disposal.

York, who won the treble with the Red Devils in 1999, believes only four players are safe under the Portuguese tactician.

"Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon but it's just rumours in the media," the 44-year-old told 888sport.

"There will be a few players under the microscope who aren't Manchester United players who somehow got in there.

"They're under-performing and no-one is safe apart from De Gea, Martial, Rashford and Rooney. Everyone in between will be looking over their shoulders."

Yorke also suggested Mourinho will become a success at United and that the brand of football might be more exciting than many expect.

"Mourinho is a big personality and successful manager so was the right choice," he added. "People may say about his boring style and how he approaches the game but that only happened at his second time around at Chelsea.

"With Duff and Robben and Lampard behind them they were quick and exciting and scored a lot of goals. He will bring a lot of success and is just who Manchester United needs."
