Work underway on Ozil's Arsenal exit - report

Cape Town - Arsenal are reportedly ready to part ways with Mesut Ozil and intermediaries are understood to be working to find him a new club.

The German playmaker only penned a new, long-term contract with the Gunners last January, worth a reported £350,000 per week, but the relationship between the two parties has seriously deteriorated since then.

The 30-year-old has missed as many games as he has played this season due to a variety of issues, reportedly ruling himself out of Saturday's win at Huddersfield due to illness.

When he is available, Ozil has been far from a guaranteed starter, often being named on the bench by head coach Unai Emery.

With Emery keen to free up room on the wage bill for new signings in the summer, the Telegraph claim intermediaries have been speaking to potential suitors.

There is no suggestion the intermediaries are working on behalf of the club although the Gunners are likely to listen to their suggestions if they can find anyone capable of matching Ozil's wage demands.
