Cape Town - Chelsea winger Willian admits he doesn't understand why talented young midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek was sent out on loan to Crystal Palace.

Loftus-Cheek has established himself in Roy Hodgson's side this term, despite struggling with injury problems early in the season. He has made seven Premier League appearances for the south Londoners.

The 21-year-old's performances for the Eagles also earned him a call-up to the England national team and he made his senior debut in the draw with Germany last week.

"I don't know why he is at Crystal Palace now," Willian told the press after Brazil's goalless draw with the Three Lions.

"He has to come back! He is strong, he has quality. He has a great future."

Chelsea next travel to The Hawthorns to face Tony Pulis' West Brom in an English Premiership clash on Saturday.

Kick off is at 17:00.
