Wenger confirms Toral could join Rangers

London - Arsene Wenger says a move to Scottish Premier League side will be good for Arsenal loanee Jon Toral.

The 21-year-old Spaniard joined the Gunners in 2014 before being sent on loan to Brentford.

A successful spell with the Bees saw him join Birmingham City where he won the Supporters' Player of the Season, the Players' Player of the Season and the Goal of the Season awards.

He subsequently joined Granada in July 2016 but has struggled for game time in La Liga this term.

When quizzed whether Toral could be join Rangers, Wenger said: "We work on it to see if it is possible, yes."

He added: "Yes, because he has played games there [at Granada] but at the moment he doesn't play and personally I think it would be a good transition for him."

Toral came through the Barcelona academy before joining the Gunners' youth set-up.

Arsenal will next face Swansea City in a Premier League fixture at the Liberty Stadium this Saturday hoping to claim all three points to stay in contention in the title race.

Kick off is at 17:00.
