WATCH: Spitting at fan a 'moment of madness' - Carragher

Cape Town - In his first interview after he was caught on camera spitting at a fan, Liverpool legend and football analyst Jamie Carragher reveals why he reacted the way he did.

The 40-year-old stole the headlines in British media after Liverpool's 2-1 loss to Manchester United on Saturday.

In an exchange of words with what seems to be a United fan, Carragher rolled down the window of his car and spat at the moving vehicle.

In the car, was a man and his 14-year-old daughter, and reports said that some of Carragher's saliva hit the face of the girl, who was sitting in the passenger seat.

A male voice can be heard saying "unlucky Jamie lad, 2-1!" before Carragher spits.

Carragher has since been suspended by Sky Sports with immediate effect and explains in detail what occurred on the day in an exclusive interview.
