WATCH: Sergio Aguero breaks Henry's goal record

Cape Town - Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero scored his 12th hat-trick as he surpassed Thierry Henry's goal record to become the top-scoring non-Englishman in Premier League history.

The 31-year-old scored in the 28th, 57th and 81st minute to break Alan Shearer's record for the most hat-tricks scored in the Premier League and moved to 177 league goals to overtake Henry's mark.

Aguero has now scored 12 hat-tricks in 255 appearances with Shearer scoring 11 in 441 appearances and bettered Henry's goals-to-games ratio with the Frenchman scoring 175 in 258 matches.

"I'm so happy for the record. It is thanks to my team-mates, they help me in these nine years," said Aguero.

"When I scored the second, I thought one more (and) I break the hat-trick record. I want to keep scoring more goals."

After smashing the record fans were hailing Aguero as the best-ever foreign export to grace the Premier League and undoubtedly one of the greats of the modern era.
