WATCH: David De Gea makes HUGE blunder against Arsenal

Cape Town - Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea came in for some intense criticism by fans after making a huge blunder in a 2-2 draw against Arsenal at Old Trafford, on Wednesday.

Manager Jose Mourinho claimed his side were their own worst enemy after gifting their opponents two soft goals courtesy of De Gea and a Marcos Rojo defensive error.

"We scored four goals and we drew 2-2, but we score four goals and even in matches like today where we play well we shoot ourselves," Mourinho said.

Shkodran Mustafi directed a tame header towards goal from a corner with the Spaniard shot-stopper caught in two minds whether to tip the ball over the bar, or try to catch.

The ball then looped into an empty net after De Gea palmed the ball into the air towards an empty net, where team-mate Ander Herrera scrambled the ball away.

VAR though confirmed that the ball had crossed the goal-line to give Arsenal an early lead.
