Ward-Prowse determined to win back Saints spot

Cape Town - Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse has fallen out of favour with manager Mauricio Pellegrino of late, but remains motivated to win back his starting berth.

The England international has only started two Premier League games this term, playing 71 minutes in the season opener against Swansea and coming off at half-time in the 2-0 defeat to Watford in September.

The 22-year-old averages under 25 minutes per Premier League fixture this campaign and has consequently lost his place in the Three Lions setup as well, which has helped fuel his desire to break into the starting XI at the Saints once again.

"I am willing to fit in to play any system the manager wants me to play in and I am always learning and trying to develop my game in different areas," he told the press.

"That's an ongoing process which is a challenge but it's a good one at that.

"It's every player's ultimate dream to play for England. I am lucky enough to have had that experience and I want to be back there as quickly as possible, but ultimately I have to be playing at the club to warrant and show the manager I am good enough to be in the England squad. I am eager and keen to do that."
