Wanyama 'elated' with passing Spurs medical

Cape Town - Victor Wanyama has revealed that he passed his medical at Tottenham ahead of his move from Southampton.

The 24-year-old midfielder flew to London on Sunday to conclude the transfer and is expected to return to Kenya on Wednesday, with the deal set to be confirmed in days to come.

Earlier this week, sources close to both clubs revealed that a fee of approximately £11m has been agreed on for the Kenya international.

"I am indeed elated at passing my medicals at Tottenham," Wanyama told Soka25east.

"It is a new dawn in my career and I believe I will give my best for my new team. I want to thank Southampton management and fans for the exceptional time we had together.

"I will always have a fond place for them in my heart."

Wanyama is set to become Spurs' first signing of the transfer window which will see him reunited with former Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane.
