Villa stand firm on Grealish valuation, even if they're relegated

Aston Villa are reportedly unwilling to lower the £80million price tag they've placed on Jack Grealish, as Manchester United consider swooping.

Having played a crucial role in getting his boyhood club into the Premier League, Villa captain Grealish has made the step up to the top flight impressively, with seven goals and six assists so far this term.

United have been heavily linked with a move all season, with reports outlining Red Devils' boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's desire to bring in exciting British talent.

Indeed, the Sunday Mirror is not the first to report that United began the groundwork on a deal to sign Grealish in February, before the shutdown of football across the continent.

The newspaper reports that Villa's owners - Nassef Sawaris and Wes Edens - have a kitty approaching £12billion and will not be forced into accepting a lower fee for Grealish.

Their £80million valuation is set to remain in place even if Villa do go back down to the Championship, with Villa also expecting Grealish to ask for a move away.

Villa sit 19th in the Premier League table with 10 games to go, including a game in hand in which victory could propel them out of the relegation zone.
