Cape Town - Manchester United have sent promising young goalkeeper Joel Pereira out on a season-long loan to Portuguese outfit Vitoria Setubal.
The 22-year-old was manager Jose Mourinho's third-choice goalkeeper behind David de Gea and Sergio Romero last season, but with Lee Grant being signed from Stoke he has now been sent elsewhere to find experience.
Despite the loan deal, Mourinho still insists he is a "firm believer" in the Portugal Under-21 international's ability and reckons he "can become the best Portuguese goalkeeper of the next generation".
Pereira has spent most of his time at United playing for the club's Under-23 side. He has made only three first team appearances since joining the Red Devils as a youngster in 2012.
