Cape Town - Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is adamant the Red Devils have "a plan" in place for the January and off-season transfer windows.

United are currently tenth in the Premier League standings and eight points off fourth-placed Chelsea, who occupy the final Champions League place.

The Red Devils were held to a 2-2 draw by Aston Villa at home on Sunday and fans will no doubt be hoping the club can bring in reinforcements over the next couple of transfer windows.

Man United brought in Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire in the off-season, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku leaving late in the window.

And Solskjaer admits that they left some deals too "late" in the summer and they won't make the same mistake again next year.

Solskjaer said: "We do have a clear picture of what the squad is going to look like in June/July.

"Hopefully you get as much done as soon as possible. With Harry coming in, Romelu going out, it was late. We do have a plan now."

United are back in action on Wednesday night as they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Old Trafford.

Kick-off is at 21:30.
