United goalkeeper Henderson set to see out season with Blades

Manchester United are reportedly willing to extend goalkeeper Dean Henderson's loan spell at Sheffield United until the end of the current campaign.

Henderson has been in fine form on loan at Sheffield United from Man United this season (making Jamie Carragher's team of the season) and has been touted as replacing David de Gea on his return to his parent club.

The 23-year-old has kept an impressive ten clean sheets for the Blades this season, and was expected to be named in Gareth Southgate's England squad for the friendlies against Italy and Denmark before those games were postponed.

The Premier League seems to be moving towards a June restart and if Sheffield United win their game in hand they would move above Man United into fifth place in the Premier League table.

Fifth place could be enough to qualify for the Champions League this season if Manchester City's two-year Champions League ban is upheld, and The Sun claimed earlier this month that Man United faced a 'moral dilemma' over Henderson.

However, the Daily Telegraph claim that Man United 'are ready to sanction an extension to Dean Henderson's loan at Sheffield United and allow him to finish the season at Bramall Lane'.

Henderson will still miss the Blades remaining fixture against the Red Devils at Old Trafford but Sheffield United are confident of a 'positive outcome'.
