Cape Town - Tottenham right-back Kieran Trippier is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move to Atletico Madrid after a fee of £21.7 million was agreed by the two clubs.
The 28-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium all summer after a comparatively disappointing campaign for the north Londoners when considering his heroics in the previous season, as well as helping England reach the World Cup semi-finals in Russia 12 months ago.
Los Colchoneros have been tracking Trippier for some time and reports claim the two clubs have now agreed on a fee.
The former Burnley full-back will travel to the Wanda Metropolitano for a medical on Wednesday and the hope is the deal will be concluded by the end of the week.
Atletico are believed to have offered striker Angel Correa in part-exchange for Trippier, but Spurs wanted a straight cash deal for the player.
Lilywhites boss Mauricio Pochettino is also thought to be willing to offload his other right-back, Serge Aurier, in this transfer window and will look to bring in Marseille's Hiroki Sakai as a replacement.
