Traore told not to be lured in by Liverpool

Wolves winger Adama Traore would do well to consider his need for game time and reject Liverpool's advances, according to pundit Michael Brown.

Traore moved to Wolves from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018 and has become arguably the club's best player in the past two seasons, with his pace and strength key.

The 24-year-old has been linked with making a step up, with Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona all linked.

Indeed, the Spaniard's agent admitted recently that there would likely still be a "market" for his client if clubs remained interested, given the financial uncertainty shrouding the sport.

Speaking to Football Insider, however, Brown said that a move to the likes of Liverpool or City could see the game time decrease for a player that is fast developing into one of the Premier League's most exciting talents.

"Personally, I think another season at Wolves, playing week in, week out - I think if he went to another club, no disrespect to Wolves, he might have to not play so much," Brown said.

"I think he's had a full season now where last season he was still not playing every week so the thing for me is, if you're saying where does he need to be, I'd be saying go and do another year with them - that would be my advice."

A key role at Anfield would be hard to come by, given Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah's presences in Jurgen Klopp's side.

Klopp has, however, been linked with freshening up his attack when the transfer window re-opens, with RB Leipzig's Timo Werner said to be his top target.

Traore, meanwhile, is set to continue his vital role for Wolves when the Premier League resumes - as expected - next month.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side sit sixth, five points off the top four with eight games remaining.
