Traore signs for Boro

Cape Town - Middlesbrough's squad revolution continued on deadline day as the club announced the signing of Adama Traore from Aston Villa, their 11th senior signing of the season.

Traore joined the Villains from Barcelona at the start of last season, having come through the famous youth academy at the Catalan club, but failed to make an impact at the English side and played just nine times despite their dreadful campaign that saw them relegated.

The 20-year-old will be hoping to earn more first team opportunities at Boro, especially after new manager Aitor Karanka's words at his unveiling.

"He is another important player and I am expecting a lot from him," Karanka said.

"I've known him since he was a kid. He went into the national team just after I left, but I know all about him and what he can do.

"His level is higher than he showed last season, but in the right environment I'm hoping that he will show what he is capable of."

The youngster joins for an undisclosed fee after signing a four-year contract at Middlesbrough.
