Cape Town - Tottenham are preparing a surprise offer for Juventus forward Paulo Dybala ahead of the new season, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Argentina international was a revelation for the Bianconeri until Cristiano Ronaldo arrived last summer and has since had his nose pushed out of joint by the Portuguese superstar.
So much so, he only managed five Serie A goals last season, and a move away from the Turin giants could be on the cards if someone is prepared to match their valuation.
That figure is said to stand at £80 million and would mean Spurs having to break their transfer record again but reports in Italy seem to think a deal could happen.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is known to be a big admirer of his fellow countryman and such a capture would end once and for all his search for a forward to take the pressure off Harry Kane.
Dybala's wages are said to stand at £120 000 a week which would not be a problem for Spurs either as Kane and Dele Alli are paid more.
