Tipsters: ‘Pool to bring Spurs to earth?

Cape Town – Tottenham Hotspur earned a heartening Premiership home triumph against Manchester United last time out … but Liverpool could bring them back from the clouds at Anfield on Sunday.

That seems the strong sentiment of the Sport24 tipster panel, three of whom fancy the Reds earning all three points, whilst a further four envisage a share of the spoils; no takers for an away win by the Londoners.

Needless to say, the group are unanimous that the pace-setting Manchester City machine will rumble onward at the expense of Burnley from their short trip there.

Each round of the 2017/18 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results – do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Baden Gillion and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
