Tipsters: Manchester City to hit ground running

Cape Town - Defending champions Manchester City, despite starting their English Premiership campaign on the road, will pick up maximum points immediately.

That is the clear majority view of the Sport24 pundits, expecting them to beat 2018/19 mid-tablers West Ham in London on Saturday. (A brace from Leroy Sane aided their 4-0 romp in the equivalent fixture last season.)

Each round of the 2019/20 campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results – do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton, and defending champion), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Baden Gillion and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct score-line, and one for right result.
