Tipsters: Jose to torment Old Trafford!

English Premiership flutter (File)

Cape Town – It’s only a mid-table meeting, but Wednesday’s return of Jose Mourinho to Manchester United’s Old Trafford with his new Tottenham charges tops the billing for interest in a busy period of English Premiership activity.

There’s a double round over the next few days, and after hosting Bournemouth first on Saturday, Spurs head north-west to see if their ever-colourful new boss can repeat the productive 3-0 outcome there last season – when he was intriguingly in the other “corner” and under massive pressure.

Sentiment among the Sport24 forecasting panel leans toward the visitors either nicking all three points or at very least banking a stalemate.

Each round of the 2019/20 campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results – do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton, and defending champion), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Baden Gillion and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct score-line, and one for right result.
