Tipsters: It’s Spurs! No, Gunners!

Cape Town – If it is guidance you seek for the outcome of the big London derby between Tottenham and Arsenal in the Premiership on Saturday, perhaps you are at the wrong place.

The only consistency in our tipster panel’s thinking is that it won’t be a draw (so Murphy’s Law suggests it will now end 1-1, of course).

But we are split almost perfectly down the middle, with three takers for Spurs to grab all three points, and four going the other way, in favour of Arsene Wenger’s charges.

Each round of the 2017/18 Premiership campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results – do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards. Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Baden Gillion and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct scoreline, and one for right result.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
