Tipsters: Chelsea to edge critical derby

Cape Town - There’s plenty at stake in Saturday’s English Premiership tussle between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge.

Apart from the London derby factor, there’s Jose Mourinho’s return to the Blues’ stomping ground as the Spurs boss … plus the Champions League relevance, as fourth entertains fifth.

It was a tricky pick, but sentiment among our panel leans toward the hosts coming out on top with three backing Chelsea and the other four a stalemate - no takers for a successful raid by the visitors.

Each round of the 2019/20 campaign, a group of our staff has a crack at predicting the results - do the exercise yourself, if you like, and see how you compare afterwards.

Compiled by Rob Houwing (Newcastle-partial), the others are Garrin Lambley (Everton, and defending champion), Lloyd Burnard, Tashreeq Vardien, Baden Gillion and Lynn Butler (all Man Utd) plus Craig Taylor (Liverpool).

Three points are awarded for an entirely correct score-line, and one for right result.
