Tarkowski: Burnley know we need to improve

Cape Town - Burnley defender James Tarkowski admits the Clarets have been under-performing so far this season but believes they are on their way up again.

Sean Dyche's charges made a poor start to the new season, after an impressive seventh-place finish last term. They lost four and drew one of their opening five league games, which left them rock-bottom of the standings.

However, they bounced back with a 4-0 win over Bournemouth before beating Cardiff City and drawing with Huddersfield Town to climb up to 12th place.

"There are a few things. There's not just one thing that we need to change," said Tarkowski, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.

"I think it's pretty obvious that we haven't been playing our best football but there are still positives to take when you're coming out with a point.

"A few weeks ago we were right at the bottom of it and people were tipping us to go down. Three weeks on we've got another seven points on the board and we're moving up the league quite nicely.

"There are less people talking about us in a negative way but we know ourselves that we certainly need to improve."
