Sturridge feels good despite muscle pull

Cape Town - Daniel Sturridge isn't overly concerned about the injury he picked up as Liverpool defeated Bayern Munich 3-0 in the Audi Cup on Tuesday.

Goals from Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Sturridge sealed the comprehensive win and their place in the final of this pre-season tournament against Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

Bayern Munich play Napoli in the Third-placed final.

Sturridge pulled up while scoring his side's third goal, having only been on the field for 18 minutes, but said he was merely fatigued and doesn't expect to be out of action for long.

Speaking after the match, he told the club's official website: "There's a little bit of tension. We've had a lot of training. I think it's just fatigue to be honest. I'll be okay.

"I'm feeling great. I put in the work this summer. I'm not missing many sessions. I'm feeling the best I've felt for a while."

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp added that he is unsure just how long the England international will be sidelined.

"I can't say yet," he said.

"He hurt his thigh. He has really prepared well, really well, so I hope this is just a small injury and that he can play again soon.

"The goal was great and he had a chance just before that. You could see how fast he is.

"It's a shame and I hope it's nothing serious."
