Stoke City's Bojan makes Alaves loan move

Cape Town - Bojan has returned to his homeland after Stoke sent the Spaniard out on loan to Alaves for the duration of the 2017/18 campaign.

A serious knee Injury hampered the 27-year-old forward's progress at the Britannia Stadium following his arrival from Barcelona in 2014.

Bojan made an impressive start to life with the Potters, scoring four goals in 16 Premier League outings before being laid low by a ruptured cruciate ligament in January 2015.

The Barca youth product has struggled to regain his form for Mark Hughes' side after the lengthy injury lay-off, and spent the second half of last season on loan at Mainz in the Bundesliga.

Having featured only twice this term, Bojan is on the move again as he links up with the Babazorros on a 12-month deal.

Meanwhile Stoke confirmed that veteran defender and captain Ryan SHawcross has signed a new four-year contract with the Premier League club.

The 29-year-old's current contract at the Potters was due to run out at the end of the season but he has committed himself to the club until 2021.
