Spurs to table bumper pay rise to in-form Son

Cape Town - Tottenham are set to hand Heung-min Son a bumper new deal at the end of the season after a string of impressive showings.

The South Korea international has enjoyed a real purple patch in the last few months, bagging 13 goals and providing six assists in his last 15 appearances for the north London outfit.

The 26-year-old's goals have been all the more important given the absence of star striker Harry Kane and attacking midfielder Dele Alli, and the club are now reportedly planning to offer Son a new deal.

Tottenham agreed a new five-year contract with the former Bayer Leverkusen forward last July and are now planning to improve his wage packet by £40 000-per-week.

Son's new £150 000-per-week wages would bring him in line with Alli's earnings, with only England captain Kane earning more than the South Korean.

Contract talks with Son are planned alongside negotiations with Christian Eriksen, with the Denmark international's current deal due to expire in the summer of 2020.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
