Spurs target open to Wolfsburg exit

Cape Town - Wolfsburg striker Max Kruse has refused to rule out a departure from the Bundesliga club amid reported interest from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

The Germany international has been linked with a move to England during the upcoming transfer window as Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino looks to lighten the load on Harry Kane.

Pochettino has relied heavily on Kane for goals in the past two seasons, the 22-year-old striker having scored 45 times in 72 league appearances, and reports in the German media claim he sees Kruse as an option to share the burden up front.

The former Monchengladbach forward, who netted six goals in 32 league outings for Die Wolfe in his first campaign at the Volkswagen Arena, admits there is a possibility he could leave just 12 months after signing a four-year contract with the Lower Saxony outfit.

"There is already much discussed in recent days, in terms of a possible change of mine," Kruse told Bild.

"I do not rule out. I say in all honesty, it is possible. I myself am very curious to see what happens. I really do not know yet."
