Cape Town - Borussia Dortmund have reportedly joined Bayern Munich in the race to secure the signature of Tottenham starlet Troy Parrott.
The 17-year-old has made just one appearance for the Spurs first team but he has caught the eye with an impressive goalscoring return at youth level and a host of clubs are showing an interest.
Bayern are said to be leading the race, should he be lured away from Spurs, but they are not the only club in the hunt.
European giants such as Juventus and Real Madrid have been linked and Dortmund can now be added to that list as well.
It has been suggested that Dortmund could attempt to steal a march on their rivals with an early move so Bayern have to respond accordingly.
Tottenham are keen to keep hold but much could depend on new manager Jose Mourinho, and whether he hands the youngster a chance to break into the first-team set up on a regular basis.
Apart from the odd exception, Mourinho is not known for doing that, and there is a chance that Parrott could look to move to Germany to fulfil his dream of regular football at a top club.
He will have paid close attention to the likes of Jadon Sancho doing well in Germany and could look to follow in his footsteps.
Parrott has already broken into the senior set-up for the Republic of Ireland, and it is no surprise that Bayern and co are keeping a close eye on his progress with the January window fast approaching.
