Spurs seal swoop for Marseille's Nkoudou

London - Tottenham Hotspur signed France Under-21 winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Marseille and allowed Clinton Njie to join the French club on loan on Wednesday.

Nkoudou, 21, agreed a five-year contract with the Premier League side following several weeks of speculation that he was set to move to White Hart Lane.

"We are delighted to announce the signing of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou from Marseille," a Tottenham statement announced.

Nkoudou, reported to have cost Tottenham £11 million, made 40 appearances in two seasons with Nantes before joining Marseille in June 2015.

He caught the eye of a host of top European clubs at Marseille, where he scored 10 times in 41 appearances.

Nkoudou was reported to have agreed personal terms with Tottenham last month and had been training at Hotspur Way as the two clubs finalised the transfer, which was delayed by a change of presidency at Marseille.

After a disappointing spell with Tottenham, Cameroon forward Njie will spend the rest of the season with Marseille and provides an immediate replacement for Nkoudou.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
