Cape Town - Tottenham
midfielder Eric Dier believes the club enjoyed a successful season and
are looking to build on their positive performances.
Mauricio Pochettino's side pushed Premier League champions Chelsea in the race for the title, but finished seven points behind their London rivals at the end of the campaign.
Dier reckons it was a good season for Spurs overall and added that they are determined to continue improving as they target their first silverware under Pochettino.
"It's been a great season," the England international told the club's official website. "I think obviously we're disappointed we didn't reach our main objective which was to finish in first place and win the Premier League, but I think as a whole we can look at the season as a positive.
"We've improved a lot on last season (2015/16) in terms of the Premier League, obviously there are things that we can still improve on and definitely next season we'll be looking to do a lot better in the Champions League as well.
"But overall I think it's been a positive season. I think this group and this team and this club wants to keep improving and keep striving to do even better than we are at the moment. That's always the objective."
