Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly moved to solidify their interest in Roma full-back Alessandro Florenzi following the sale of Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid.
Trippier sealed a move on Wednesday to Atletico Madrid on a three-year deal, joining for an undisclosed fee rumoured to be around £20 million.
The England international spent four years at Tottenham with his last appearance for the club coming in the Champions League final defeat to Liverpool.
Repacking centre-back Juan Foyth at right-back could be a worthwhile experiment but Spurs may look to bring in a replacement for Trippier instead or rely on Serge Aurier or Kyle Walker-Pieters to fill in.
And Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) claims that Tottenham could turn to Roma full-back Florenzi this off-season.
The report adds that Spurs held talks about the Italy international with Roma at the same time as discussing a possible deal for Toby Alderweireld to go in the other direction.
The Serie A side value Florenzi at €30 million after he only signed a new five-year deal at the Stadio Olimpico last August.
