Cape Town - Mohamed Elyounoussi has joined Premier League outfit Southampton on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee from FC Basel.
The 23-year-old, who can play as either a winger or forward, has become manager Mark Hughes' second signing of the off-season, after Stuart Armstrong joined from Celtic.
Elyounoussi made 44 appearances for FC Basel in 2017/18 and scored 13 goals while providing 17 assists. He also helped them reach the UEFA Champions League last 16, where he scored against Manchester City.
"I'm a hard worker on the pitch and I like to create chances, either for me or to play others through," the Norway international told Southampton's official website.
"That's where I'm at my best, when I can use my creativity, so I think the philosophy of the club will suit me very well."
