Cape Town - Australia international Brad Smith has traded Liverpool for AFC Bournemouth in a £3m move that will see him at his new club until 2020.
With the transfer fee and personal negotiations finalised, the 22-year-old returned to England from the Reds' pre-season tour of the US to undergo a medical on Tuesday.
The young full-back, who lined up for Australia against England in the Three Lions' European Championship warm-up match, has been a Liverpool player since the age of 14.
He made his Premier League debut in 2013 and played a total of five league matches for his former club. He opened his scoring account with an FA Cup goal against Exeter City in 2016.
FC Bournemouth chief executive Neill Blake said: "I am delighted to confirm that we have completed a deal to bring Brad to the football club.
"Brad broke through at Anfield last season and impressed whenever he was called upon.
"He is another excellent young player that we believe can progress under Eddie and Jason’s guidance, but he also brings with him experience of playing at the highest level in both the Premier League and on the international stage with the Socceroos.
"It is an exciting time for us as we bring yet another promising prospect into our progressive squad."
