Sherwood wants management chance

Cape Town - Former Aston Villa and Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood says he would be open to a return to club management if the opportunity presented itself.

Hull City's Steve Bruce and Sunderland' Sam Allardyce are the two frontrunners for the England job and with a potential vacancy opening, Sherwood has made himself available for the potential posts.

"Absolutely," he told talkSPORT Radio when asked whether he would like to take over at the Stadium of Light.

"You never know until you get in. You have to wait until you get in there. But, yes, I want to get back into work, but only with the right opportunity."

Sherwood led his last club Villa to the final of the 2015 FA Cup final, where they lost 4-0 to Arsenal.
