Cape Town - Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer believes that Bastian Schweinsteiger can help lift Manchester United out of their current dip in form.
Schweinsteiger has fallen out of favour at United and has yet to feature under Jose Mourinho, but the Bayern Munich stopper believes he can still play a part for the Red Devils.
"I really hope that Bastian gets some consideration soon," The keeper said at a press conference in Munich.
"We all know he's one of the best midfielders in the world.
"He belongs on the field for Manchester United and not training individually."
The midfielder has not played for United since the Manchester derby back in March and missed the tail-end of last season with an injury.
Schweinsteiger featured for Germany at Euro 2016, scoring against the Ukraine in the group stage and making five appearances all told, but since returning to Old Trafford has been banished to the fringes and has been training away from the first team.
His last match was a testimonial game for Germany played in September.
Manchester United are seventh in the Premier League, six points adrift of rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, and have failed to score in their last two outings.
