Salah ready to 'sacrifice' his UCL 'dream' for Liverpool fans

Cape Town - Mohamed Salah is ready to 'sacrifice' his Champions League 'dream' to fuel Liverpool's Premier League title hopes.

Liverpool are second in the Premier League table, a single point behind Manchester City with eight games remaining.

They are also still in the Champions League, and face Bayern Munich in the second leg of their last-16 tie on Wednesday.

Liverpool must either win or secure a score draw in Germany to progress after a 0-0 first-leg stalemate at Anfield. And while Salah's 'dream' is to win 'the most prestigious competition', he is happy to 'sacrifice' that to help Liverpool fans realise their ambition of a first top-flight domestic title since 1990.

"I will be honest with you, the most prestigious competition for me is the Champions League," he said.

"But the dream for the entire city and the club is the league.

"So, I am happy to sacrifice my dream for their dream but if we win both that would great and this is what we are trying to do.

"The competition is very tough, and we have difficult games left as do [City].

"All you can do is win your games and hopefully they will fail in one, so we can win the title.

"My mind is sharp and there is pressure, but I am strong mentally and we just have to keep going.

"We will see what we can do at the end of the season but mentally I am ready for everything."
