Cape Town - Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr has revealed that Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi is currently negotiating a move to French outfit Olympic Marseille.
The 29-year-old has not yet featured for the Londoners this season, having captained the Super Eagles to a bronze medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics in August.
And, with his first-team prospects not expected to improve under Antonio Conte this season, Mikel Obi is seemingly ready to end his ten-year association with the Blues.
"I saw him in London," Rohr told Europe 1. "He is in advanced discussions with Marseille.
"Chelsea will allow him to leave for free. It is a serious option for him."
Mikel Obi has made 374 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions, bagging six goals in the process.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, the midfielder has won two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, two League Cups, the FA Community Shield, the UEFA Champions League and the EUFA Europa League.
