Cape Town - Arsenal are among the European clubs interested in Rennes winger Ismaila Sarr following a standout season.
Sarr initially caught the eye of the Gunners when the two sides met in the Europa League earlier in the season, and Unai Emery's scouts have watched him in action ever since.
Arsenal officials are reported to have made contact with their Rennes counterparts back in March in an attempt to line up a deal and it could take a fee in the region of £25 million to make a move happen.
The Gunners are not the only interested party though as Premier League rivals Leicester City are also said to be lining up a move for the pacey winger, along with Italian sides AS Roma and AC Milan.
A source close to the player has been quoted as saying: "Leicester, Roma and AC Milan are the three clubs that have shown genuine interest in signing Ismaila.
"He has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool. But I have not heard any news from either of these two clubs."
The 21-year-old has netted 12 goals in Ligue 1 and 11 assists.
