Cape Town - Loic
Remy has reportedly been offered the chance to resurrect his career in
Italy with Cagliari after failing to make an impact at Chelsea.
The 30-year-old forward has endured a frustrating spell with the Blues due to a series of injuries which limited his chances at Stamford Bridge.
Much was expected of Remy after he joined from Queens Park Rangers in 2014, having bagged 14 goals in 26 appearances for Newcastle in a loan stint the previous season.
But the France international was often on the treatment table and saw his loan move to Crystal Palace last term also interrupted by injury, managing just five Premier League outings.
The Rossoblu are believed to be keen on acquiring his services, although there a few provisos attached. The Serie A club want the English champions to tear up the remaining year of Remy's contract, while he would be required to take a pay-cut to secure a deal at the Sardegna Arena until 2020.
The Lyon youth product was included in Antonio Conte's pre-season plans, but only made two appearances off the bench, and finds himself behind new signing Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi in the pecking orders up front, with Diego Costa's future still uncertain.
Meanwhile England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set to join Premier League champions Chelsea from Arsenal, according to British media reports on Monday.
The two clubs have, according to The Guardian, The Independent and ESPN, agreed a fee for the 24-year-old, who was substituted during the limp 4-0 thrashing by Liverpool on Sunday.
