Cape Town - Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri says he is hoping to retain the services of Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp amidst reported interest from West Bromwich Albion.

According to reports in the English press, the Foxes have already knocked back two offers from the Baggies, with the latest bid said to be worth around £12m.

Ranieri is hoping to convince Schlupp that his future lies at the King Power Stadium, although he admits he can't guarantee the attacking full-back a regular starting berth.

"I can only choose the first 11," Ranieri told the Leicester Mercury. "He, of course, wants to play, and I can't say yes, you can play every match.

"Then we see what happens. Of course, he wants to improve his career, and now we see will what will happen, and we will choose the best solution for the club and for him."

The 23-year-old Schlupp is a product of Leicester's youth system and has made 142 first-team appearances in all competitions, netting 15 goals.

The Hamburg-born player has been capped 13 times by Ghana's senior side, having been overlooked by Germany at various youth levels.
