Rafa tells Newcastle: We can do it

Cape Town - Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez has told his relegation-threatened players that if they keep working they can avoid the drop.

Norwich City scored a last-minute winner to resign the Magpies to a fifth defeat in in their last six Premier League matches, leaving them second-last in the standings, two points behind third-last Sunderland and six adrift of safety.

Their next match is against Southampton at St Mary's this coming Saturday, where the Spaniard will be hoping for his first win at the club.

"We have to think about Southampton then try and improve and get ready for the next game and try to get three points in the next one," Benitez said.

"I told the players after the game the only way is to keep pushing and keep working hard and we can do it."
