Prodl signs long-term deal with Watford

Cape Town - Watford have announced that defender Sebastian Prodl has signed a new long-term contract with the Premier League side.

The 30-year-old Austrian international defender, who joined the Hornets in 2015, has penned a new four-year deal.

He joined the club from Werder Bremen, having begun his career with Sturm Graz, and has gone on to make 61 appearances, scoring three goals.

Speaking to the club's official website upon signing the new deal, the 2016/17 Watford player of the season, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury said: "I am very pleased to sign a new deal at Watford.

"I hope to be back on the pitch soon and am looking forward to the next four years."
