Preview: Liverpool v Man United

Cape Town - In one of the most eagerly anticipated north west derbies in recent season, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool will look to continue their good form when they welcome bitter rivals Manchester United to Anfield on Monday night.

LIVE scoring and interactive commentary on the Premier League clash between Liverpool and Manchester United.

Kick-off is at 21:00.

Liverpool's strong start to the season has come off the back of some very impressive attacking movement and interplay between their front men. The key for the Reds is once again likely to be the combination play between Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane upfront.

So far this term, they have been deadly for Liverpool as the club has both created the most chances and scored more goals than any other side in the Premier League, and Manchester United will have their hands full trying to keep them quiet for 90 minutes.

With that in mind, the Red Devils will be looking to an unlikely source in Ander Herrera to control the match in midfield. The Spaniard has been played in an unfamiliar holding role this season, but has excelled beyond all expectations and will be required to pick up whoever is playing the roaming false nine position for Liverpool on Monday.

Liverpool are currently in the middle of an excellent run of form and have won their last five matches in a row in all competitions. They have only lost once in the Premier League this season, a shock 2-0 defeat to Burnley, while they've claimed impressive away wins over both Chelsea and Arsenal.

Prior to the international break, they thrashed Hull City 5-1, before travelling to Wales to beat Swansea and Klopp will be determined for his players to take some momentum from those games into their derby against United. The German tactician admits he is looking forward to locking horns with Jose Mourinho and revealed his concerns over United's physical advantage.

Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum are rated as doubtful for the clash after both players returned from the international break with knocks, while both Nathaniel Clyne and Dejan Lovren have recovered from their respective injuries in time to be included in the matchday squad.

Phil Jones is the only player definitely out for Manchester United as he continues to recover from a long-term knee injury, while both Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be available.
