Pogba’s brother confirms Zidane interest in United ace

Cape Town - Paul Pogba’s brother has confirmed that Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane does want to sign the Manchester United midfielder.

Pogba’s future at Old Trafford was the subject of many column inches over the summer and it seemed as though he would be leaving the Theatre of Dreams.

Los Blancos were linked, and it appeared as though they might try to lure him the Spanish capital but transfer deadline day came and went without a move for the France international.

Rumours of Real’s interest will not go away despite the Red Devils denying any contact with the La Liga giants, but it seems as though they were keen.

Pogba’s brother, Mathias, has now opened up on the issue and insists that, while Zidane failed to land his major targets in the summer, he is likely to renew interest at a later date.

"Zidane wanted players, he didn’t get them,” he told Radio Marca.

"But I have no doubt that he’s going to do the work he needs to do in order to get the team back to the level he wants.

"I like Zidane and he likes my brother – everyone knows it."

Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, said during the summer months that he was working on a deal for Pogba to continue his career in Madrid but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made it clear he sees the World Cup winner as a long-term part of his plans.
