Cape Town - Paul Pogba feels proud that Manchester United were able to silence their critics by lifting the Europa League.
Goals from Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed a 2-0 win for the Red Devils at the Friends Arena in Solna Stockholm on Wednesday night.
With the club having put all their Champions League eggs in one basket by targeting a Europa League win at the expense of a top-four finish, the club were ridiculed for taking such a risk.
But with Reds boss Jose Mourinho proved correct, midfield star Pogba told BT Sport: "We did it. We are very proud. Nobody can talk.
"They said we had a bad season but we have three trophies.
"The start was important and after the goals we controlled the game.
"It was a great performance from everybody in the team."
The Europa League became the club's third piece of silverware this season after they claimed the Community Shield and EFL Cup.
Pogba further added that he would be happy to see his old club Juventus win the Champions League this season. They play Real Madrid next week.
He told Sky Italia: "If Juventus win the Champions League, I am very happy, very happy."
Juventus would face United in the UEFA Super Cup if they were to beat Real.
Pogba added: "Then we would be in the Super Cup against them? True. But I can say good luck to my former team-mates."
