Pogba in talks about Man United future

Cape Town - Paul Pogba has held a series of talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer concerning his future, senior Manchester United insiders claim.

The Old Trafford midfielder was seemingly heading for the exit door this summer before Jose Mourinho was sacked in December, having suffered a breakdown in his relationship with the Portuguese coach.

Pogba has since kept his own counsel despite continuing to be linked with both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, having returned to more like his best form in recent weeks.

The France World Cup winner has two years remaining on his deal, with the Red Devils also retaining the option of a further 12 months, so the United money men are under no pressure as yet to discuss new terms.

However, discussions are believed to have taken place in the last fortnight between Pogba and caretaker boss Solskjaer, simply in terms of what the 25-year-old might be thinking and whether his agent is still looking to place him with another club.

Pogba was even offered to rivals Manchester City 14 months ago, although the message presently coming out of United is clear - they intend to keep hold of a player who cost them a then world-record £89 million fee when they brought him back from Juventus in 2016.

It is understood the flamboyant Frenchman, who has managed ten goals so far this term, wants to remain focused on the remainder of the campaign and securing a top-four finish for United, but Solskjaer has been encouraged from the private discussions he has held with Pogba.
