Cape Town - Tottenham
Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is delighted that Fernando Llorente has
joined his team and praised the striker's winning mentality.
The Spaniard signed for Spurs from Swansea City on transfer deadline day to reinforce their attack, with Vincent Janssen leaving for Fenerbahce on loan, and Pochettino is happy to have his experience in the team.
On the international stage, Llorente has won the World Cup and Euros with Spain, while also claiming three Serie A titles during his time at Juventus.
"First of all he's a great professional. He's a world champion - he won the World Cup with Spain - and that is the mentality that can translate to us with the experience of winning big things," Pochettino said.
"It's not easy to have the facility to sign players like Llorente. It was an amazing chance for us and I think it's fantastic he decided to sign for us."
The 32-year-old scored 15 goals for Swansea last season to help them stave off relegation from the Premier League.
Meanwhile Tottenham expect Victor Wanyama to be sidelined for the next "few weeks" as a result of the knee injury he sustained in training before the international break.
