Pochettino playing coy on transfers

Cape Town - Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino doubts his club will get involved in the January transfer market.

Thursday, January 31 marks the window deadline day, but Spurs look unlikely to bolster their squad.

With the superstars Harry Kane and Dele Alli out for the next four weeks at the very least, one thought the club may dig into their pockets.

But in fact, Pochettino hinted at the opposite.

"No, I don't know anything," quipped the Argentine.

“I am going to talk now with my chief scout Steve Hitchen, I am going to ask for some news.

“I expect that maybe some player is going to leave but I do not expect that we are going to add to the squad.

“I am going to talk because I want some news, but not because I am expecting to sign a player."

Meanwhile, Spurs dug deep to come from behind to earn a 2-1 win over Watford at Wembley Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Newcastle United are visiting the Pochettino’s charges next on Saturday afternoon.

Kick-off is at 14:30 (SA time).
