Pochettino: Inter will give us a good game

Cape Town - Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says their final warm-up game against Inter Milan on Friday will give his side just the preparation they need ahead of the new campaign.

Pochettino has been hard at work ensuring his players are ready to face Everton on the opening day of the new Premier League season by giving them plenty of game-time in friendlies.

Spurs have played a number of high-profile games, against the likes of Chelsea, Juventus and Atletico Madrid, alongside more localised matches.

And Pochettino, who will have the domestic top flight and Champions League to manage this term, says that playing Inter, with the majority of his players now available for selection, will end their preparation plans nicely.

He told the club's official website: "All the games are important for us, the games that we played at our training ground too.

"I think for our preparation this game is arriving in a good moment for us. All the internationals are involved in the game, it is important to recover the feeling but the most important thing is to start the season in a very good condition.

"We have another week to prepare for the start of the Premier League and ensure that we arrive in a very good condition."

A number of key personnel arrived back at the club late as a result of their involvement at Euro 2016, and Pochettino feels it is crucial these players are fully integrated with the rest of the squad before next weekend's big kick-off.

"I think it's very important, it's good that they are involved again with us to compete," he added. "We have a very good game, Inter Milan is a great team and it's important to feel the competition.

"The most important thing is to be ready for the start of the Premier League."
